ABOUT US

George Murphy formed Sawmill Publishing in May of 2003 in Long Beach California. The company releases exciting novels primarily for young adults that center on historical facts.

With it's release of "Emy Moon" a year later came instant success. This exciting novel brings Colonial American history into the present day beautifully and sensitively.

We here at Sawmill Publishing are committed to History. It is through these fascinating books that we not only hope to increase a knowledge of history, but in doing so will make in fun and interesting.

The two novels shown on this page center on the American Revolution and it is through these two fascinating books that the young reader will come to appreciate our history. History is not just days and dates; it is people. Ordinary citizens called upon to do extraordinary things. These books have encouraged our readers to ask their teachers questions, to ask their parents about their own families and give the encouragement to research their past.

As millions of Americans contemplate the state of our union, it's beneficial to contemplate the origins of that union. In his unforgettable books, Emy Moon and Lucy Killgrew, Murphy Gordon gives us an unparalleled intimacy with our nation's historical roots.

Appealing to all ages, Emy Moon and Lucy Killgrew are beautifully written novels that takes the reader on an amazing voyage of discovery. Guided by the spirit of a young colonial tomboy, a young girl from California will discover a young colonial woman, the story of whom will aid in understanding her own identity.
